Citizen Demands to Address Food Price Hikes, Safety, and Risk Management during the Holy Ramadan

On 18 February 2026, a press conference titled “Citizen Demands to Address Food Price Hikes, Safety, and Risk Management during the Holy Ramadan” was held at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall, located within the National Press Club.

The event was jointly organized by Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), BISEF Foundation, Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB), and Shisuk.

The keynote paper was presented by Ataur Rahman Miton, Chief Executive and General Secretary of Bikoshito Bangladesh Foundation, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger citizen awareness, food safety measures, and community resilience during Ramadan.

The session was chaired by Nur Mohammad Talukdar and moderated by Md. Alamgir Kabir, with welcome remarks from Shakil Millat Morshed.
Distinguished speakers including A. H. M. Shafiquzzaman, Humayun Kabir, and Rezaul Karim Siddique highlighted the importance of coordinated action, effective regulation, and public engagement to ensure safe, affordable, and accessible food for all. 🍲 Together, strengthening #FoodSafety awareness is essential to protect vulnerable communities during Ramadan.
